Family
in Holland Landing House |
Francis, Ned and family
were living in the Holland Landing house at the turn of the century. The
location of the house, as entered in the 1901 census, was (approximately),
" East of Yonge, North of Queen part 107". In the census entry, Francis
was described as "living on own means". (14)
Looking at a map of Holland Landing, it's difficult to imagine where that
would be considering Queen Street is only on Yonge's West side, but back
then, Queen Street may also have referred to the Mount Albert Road of today.
Francis's lot would be found today on the North-East corner of Mount Albert
Rd. and Newmarket St.
