    Rachel and Daniel had four children: John Herbert, Mary, George Malcolm, and Robert Ewan, an optometrist in Claremount who died in 1955. Robert Ewan Forsyth was the grandfather of John T. Clark, contributer to this research in 2002.[639]

Abigale7 SHARRARD (child of Ruth6Wixson, Joshua5, Solomon4, Joshua3Wixam, Barnabas2, Robert1);[401],[401] born between 1832 and 1835 at Upper Canada (Ontario), British North America (Canada);[402],[403] married Joseph Wixson Jr., son of Joseph Wixson Sr. and Deborah Townsend, between 1850 and 1853; (note that Abigail was Joseph's 1st cousin, once removed);[378] died 16 Nov 1916 at Blenheim, Kent Co., Ontario, Canada.[404]

There were several grave stones found in an old barn in Claremont believed to belong to the old Methodist Church graveyard, one of which was inscribed "In memory of / six infants / children of / Joseph & Abigal / Wixson / Of such is the kingdom of heaven."[384]

Joseph WIXSON Jr was born on 21 Jun 1818 at Upper Canada (Ontario), British North America (Canada).[372],[373],[374] He was baptized on 4 Nov 1849 at First Baptist Church of Pickering & Whitchurch, Canada West (Ontario), British North America (Canada); as an adult, in a ceremony including his cousin Azor and Hannah Norton, by his uncle Joshua.[165] He had a child with Bithenia Avery circa 1842.[375] He had a child with Elizabeth Yake circa 1843.[376] He married Elizabeth Hebner on 8 Jan 1846 at Pickering Twp., Ontario Co., Canada West (Ontario), British North America (Canada); announced through banns, witnessed by Thomas Mathews and Julia Ann Stiver, presided by Rev. Marsh.[301],[377] He died of la grippe (a.k.a. influenza) and general debility on 27 Feb 1908 at Marlborough St., Blenheim, Kent Co., Ontario, Canada, at age 89.[379],[380] In 1850 Joseph sold ¾-acres from his property on Con. 9 lot 18, to the First Baptist Church of Pickering and Whitchurch, on which their first permanent chapel was built. The parish name soon changed to Claremont Baptist Church, and iIn 1866 the present brick chapel was completed on the same site.[381] As of June 1851, Joseph was recorded as a member of the Claremont Baptist Church.[165] From about 1853 on, Joseph sold small parcels of land from his father's original grant on lot 18 Con. 9, which become the centre of the village of Claremont.[382],[383] During the years from 1858 to 1865, Joseph alternated from the positions of Deputy Reeve and Councillor of Pickering Township.[140] He appeared on the census of 1861 at Pickering Twp., Ontario Co., Canada West (Ontario), British North America (Canada); where Joseph (44) was a Baptist farmer. Abigale (29), Franklin (15), John C. (8), and two other children Mary A. Farrell (5) and James Farrell (2) were present. They lived in a 1½-story stone house. Joseph occupied 100 acres on Con. 7 lot 20.[385],[386] He lived in 1871 at Harwich Twp., Kent Co., Ontario, Canada; where Joseph was aged 52 yrs.[387] He lived at Marlborough St., Blenheim, Kent Co., Ontario, Canada; the home built by son-in-law Herbert Wilson, where they died.[388] At least by the 1890's Joseph and Abigail had moved to Blenheim, Kent Co., which is south of Chatham in south-western Ontario.[389],[390]

Both were living in Cannington. The ceremony was witnessed by William Mullon and Catherine McPherson;[705] died 20 Dec 1940 at Mount Dennis, York Co., Ontario, Canada, at age 83;[706] buried at Riverside Cemetery, sect.     In 1880, John Daniel was a painter on the birth of his son Samuel, in Cannington.[707] He and Rhoda Jane Williton appeared on the census of 1881 at Cannington, Ontario Co., Ontario, Canada; where the family was Methodist, John Daniel appeared as just "Daniel", and was a labourer aged 23, and Rhoda was 21 with 1 year-old son John Samuel.[708] He and Rhoda Jane Williton appeared on the census of 1891 at Toronto, York Co., Ontario, Canada; where John Daniel was said to be a house painter. Rhoda, John (Samuel) and Martha E. were present, as were another couple David & Mary Jackson.[709] Between 1891 and 1893, John Daniel Wixson and Rhoda Jane Williton lived at 74 Dundas St. West, Toronto Junction, York Co., Ontario, Canada, John Daniel was a painter for A. Taylor.[710] In 1894, John Daniel Wixson and Rhoda Jane Williton lived at 194 Annette St. West, Toronto Junction, York Co., Ontario, Canada, where J.D. worked for Dodge Wood Split Pulley Co.[711] He and Rhoda Jane Williton appeared on the census of 1901 at Toronto Junction, York Co., Ontario, Canada; where the family was recorded as Methodists, John Daniel was a painter, his son Samuel (21) was an enamellist, and daughter Martha (19) was a school teacher. Rhoda's brother Charles Williton and his family of five shared the home at 73 Hoskin Avenue.[680] Between 1901 and 1902, John Daniel Wixson and Rhoda Jane Williton lived at 73 Hoskin Ave., Toronto Junction, York Co., Ontario, Canada, where John Daniel was a rubber worker at Canada Cycle and Motor with his brother Isaac (1901) and a clerk with F.G. Daughter Martha lived there also until her death in 1928. During this time, John was a painter at CCM (1926-1935).[715] He celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on 20 Nov 1928.[716] In 1935, John Daniel Wixson lived at 12 Dennis Ave., Mount Dennis, York Co., Ontario, Canada, after Rhoda had died.[717] Between 1937 and 1938, John Daniel Wixson lived at 110 Yarmouth Rd., Toronto, Ontario, Canada, joined by grandson Robert J. Wixson.[718]

    Rhoda Jane WILLITON[719],[720] was born on 13 Mar 1859 at Canada West (Ontario), British North America (Canada).[685],[693] She died myocardial disease with failure (heart attack) on 14 Dec 1934 at 12 Dennis Ave., Mount Dennis, York Co., Ontario, Canada, at age 75.[721],[722] She was buried on 17 Dec 1934 at Riverside Cemetery, sect. (3), Frederick (10 mos) and mother Esther (64) were present.[767] In 1902, Joseph Wixson and Clara Smith lived at 251 Clendenan Ave., Toronto Junction, York Co., Ontario, Canada, and was a bicycle worker with brothers Isaac and Jacob.[768],[769] Between 1905 and 1909, Joseph Wixson and Clara Smith lived at 17 Hoskin Ave., Toronto Junction, York Co., Ontario, Canada, where Joseph was a sand blaster.[770] Between 1910 and 1914, Joseph Wixson and Clara Smith lived at 485 Quebec St., Toronto, York Co., Ontario, Canada.[771] He and Clara Smith appeared on the census of 1911 at Toronto, York Co., Ontario, Canada; where Joseph (42), Clara (36), Roy (20), Edith (16), Mary E (12), Frederick (11), Daniel (8), Clarence (5), and Ruth (1) were present.[772] Joseph fell ill with consumption in 1912 and retired shortly after.[773]

    Catherine NURSE was born circa 1869 at Co. Monaghan, Ireland.[774] She died (though no registration found) between 1891 and 1893.[775],[776]

    He and Maud Downey lived in 1900 at 457 Weston Rd., Toronto Junction, York Co., Ontario, Canada; where Jacob was a bicycle maker.[822] He and Maud Downey appeared on the census of 6 Apr 1901 at 644 Weston Rd., Toronto, York Co., Ontario, Canada; where Jacob made $460/year as a polisher, was Baptist, and Maud (20) and Esther M. (1) were present.
