Panton (15) granddaughter and scholar, b. St. Andrew Jamaica.[228] Reverend Philip CHAPMAN was born in 1813 at Petersfield, Co. Hampshire, England.[229] He died having fallen from the church roof while fixing it on 17 May 1843 at Mt. 9. Edward George James5 STALLARD (child of Edward4, William3, William2, Edward1);[257],[258] born circa 1815 at Sheet, Co. Hampshire, England;[259],[260],[261] baptized 22 Apr 1815 at Petersfield, Co. Hampshire, England;[262],[120],[263] married Ann Chalcraft, daughter of John Samuel Chalcraft and Eliza Grigg, 16 Jul 1837 at the parish church, Alverstoke, Co. Hampshire, England; by Banns, where Edward (23) was a bachelor and saddler, Ann (22) a spinster. Witnesses were Thomas Allen and Matilda Chalcraft;[264],[265] died 7 Mar 1898 at Winchcombe, Co. Gloucester, England, at age 82;[266],[267],[268] buried 11 Mar 1898 at Winchcombe, Co. Gloucester, England, "aged 84."[269] "Edward jun., a Buriton boy" was apprenticed to Henry Hall (prob. carpenter) for £20 on 28 Aug 1829.[270],[271] In 1837, Edward George James Stallard and Ann Chalcraft lived at Gosport, Co. Hampshire, England, at their marriage.[272] He was a publican, probably with his father at the "Five Bells" between 1838 and 1840 at Buriton, Co. Hampshire, England.[273] In 1841, Edward paid tithes for his residence, a house and garden on Bone's Lane; an arable field, part of Lime Kiln Field; and the parchment yard and the house and garden immediately south of it on North Lane.[274] He and Ann Chalcraft appeared on the census of 1841 at Buriton, Co. Hampshire, England; where Edward (~25) a harness maker, wife Ann (~25) and daughter Emma (4 mo.) were present. Also his sister Caroline Judd (~25), and her family John Judd (~25) a baker, Charles (3) and Charlotte (1) were present.[154],[275] He and Ann Chalcraft lived in 1841 at Bone's Lane, Buriton, Co. Hampshire, England; with sister's family (Caroline & John Judd). Edward was called a harness maker, and John a baker. Their 17th century timber-frame house contained two cottages.[276],[277],[278] He was a collar maker, and a fellmonger (preparer of pelts for leather making) between 1841 and 1843 at Buriton, Co. Hampshire, England.[273] He was a harness maker in 1844 at Buriton, Co. Hampshire, England.[279],[280] He was a bankrupt on 16 Mar 1850 at Sheet, Co. Hampshire, England.[281] He and Ann Chalcraft appeared on the census of 1851 at Cow Legs Lane, Petersfield, Co. Hampshire, England; where Edward (35) was a wool dealer, born in Sheet. Ann (36) of Emsworth, Kate (8), Fanny (6), Clara (4) and Ellen (2) were also present.[282],[283] He and Ann Chalcraft appeared on the census of 1861 at 8 Sheet St., Petersfield, Co. Hampshire, England; where Edward (45) a wool stapler born in Sheet, Ann (49) of Emsworth, Kate (18) , George (9) and servant Chester Pink were present.[284] He and Ann Chalcraft emigrated in 1867 to Ontario, Canada; where Edward (53) was a farmer, and Ann (56), Fanny (22) and George (13) were recorded as cabin passengers aboard S.S. Peruvian, which departed Liverpool 1 Aug 1867, arrived Quebec City 14 Aug 1867, from whence their family settled in Islington.[285] He and Ann Chalcraft lived between 1868 and 1871 at lot 8, Con. A, Etobicoke Twp., Islington, York Co., Ontario, Canada; renting 13 acres from Captain Edward Jones of Yorkville. Edward G.J. was a butcher and drover.[286] On 23 Jul 1869, Edward purchased for five dollars a burial plot at St. George's church for son George.[287] He and Ann Chalcraft appeared on the census of 1871 at Orillia, Simcoe Co., Ontario, Canada; where Edward (55) was a butcher, and Anne was present.[288] At some point Edward and Anne returned to England and lived in Winchcombe near their daughter Frances.[289] He and Ann Chalcraft appeared on the census of 1881 at Gretton Rd., Winchcombe, Co. Gloucester, England; where Edward (67) farmed 45 acres, employing one boy. Ann (68) was also present.[290] He and Ann Chalcraft appeared on the census of 1891 at Winchcombe, Co. Gloucester, England; where Edward G.J. (78) was a farmer, and Ann (81) and two servants were present.[291] Ann CHALCRAFT[292],[293] was born on 22 Sep 1810 at Warblington, Co. Hampshire, England.[294] She was baptized on 4 Nov 1810 at Warblington Parish, Co. Hampshire, England.[295],[296],[297],[298] She died on 2 Nov 1910 at Winchcombe, Co. Gloucester, England, at age 100.[266],[299],[300] She was buried on 5 Nov 1910 at Winchcombe, Co. Gloucester, England, "aged 100."[301] She appeared on the census of 1901 at 95 Gretton Rd., Winchcombe, Co. Gloucester, England; where Anne (90) was a widowed farmer's wife, in the home of her daughter Frances Stephens (55), and James Stephens (66) the superintendant registrar, clerk to union, and their children Henry W. (29) a solicitor, John H (24) an articled clerk (solicitor), and a servant Hannah Martin (21) were present.[302] She was confined to her bed in 1906 at Cheltenham, Co. Gloucester, England.[303] She appeared in The Gloucestershire Echo, "The death occurred at Winchcombe on Nv. 2nd of Mrs. Ann Stallard, who was one of three female centenarians known to be living in this county. She had been confined to her bed for about four years, lovingly cared for by her daughter Mrs. J. H. Stephens. The funeral took place quietly at Winchcombe on Saturday. The coffin bore the simple inscription: "Ann Stallard, born 22 Sept., 1810; died 2 Nov., 1910" on 7 Nov 1910.[304] On 30 Nov 1910, Winnifred Brereton sent a thank-you card to Mr. A. Bone (husband of Kate) concerning Ann's death, it is assumed: "Please accept sincere thanks for very kind sympathy." 12. George5 STALLARD (child of Edward4, William3, William2, Edward1); christened 3 Aug 1828 at Buriton, Co. Hampshire, England;[101] married Charlotte Cave Ide, daughter of Willis Aylmore Ide and Charlotte Cave, 10 Feb 1853 at Warblington, Co. Hampshire, England; where George was recorded to be a fellmonger living in Havant, and Charlotte was from Warblington;[349],[350] died "aged 77" 23 Jun 1906 at Havant, Co. Hampshire, England, at age 77.[351],[345] He was a parchment maker and fellmonger between 1847 and 1856 at Homewell Parchment Yard, Havant, Co. Hampshire, England.[352] Charlotte Cave Ide's family was a focus of A.D. Bone's early research of the Islington relations: her sisters Martha (1833-1914) and Sarah Ann (1836-1907) married Tier brothers Thomas (1832-1923) and Robert (1838-1913); her brother Thomas Henry (1834-1907) married Caroline Judd (1845-1913), niece of her husband George Stallard. Several Tiers and Ides are buried at St. George's-on-the-Hill, Islington.[353] He and Charlotte Cave Ide emigrated circa 1856 to Canada West (Ontario), British North America (Canada).[354] George and his family returned to England between 1857 and 1859.[355] He was a parchment maker between 1859 and 1906 at Homewell Parchment Yard, Havant, Co. Hampshire, England.[356] He and Charlotte Cave Ide appeared on the census of 1861 at South Street, Havant, Co. Hampshire, England; where George (32) was a parchment manufacturer employing 9 men and 4 boys, Charlotte C. (31), George (6), Clarissa C. (4), Thorburn (2), and Matilda (7 mos) were present.[357],[358] He was living in 1867 at East Street, Havant, Co. Hampshire, England; and was a parchment maker.[359] At sometime between their father's retirement, and subsequent death in 1869, George and Albert formed 'G. & A. Stallard' at Homewell.[360] He appeared on the census of 1881 at East Street, Havant, Co. Hampshire, England; where George (52) was a widower, a Fellmonger Master employing 19 Men 7 Boys. His children Thorburn (22) also a fellmonger, Matilda F. (20), Emma A. (18), Sidney (10) and servant Harriett Hiscole (19) were present.[361] George and Albert Stallard were parchment makers in Havant in 1900.[362] He appeared on the census of 1901 at Havant, Co. Hampshire, England; where George (72) was a parchment maker.[363] Upon George and Albert's retirement, G. & A. Stallard was run by George's son Thorburn until 1936.[364] In 1909, the employees of G. & A. Stallard were photographed at Homewell. Neither George nor Albert appear in the photo, but an E. Stallard does (smartly dressed, large white beard, appears 60-70 years old).[365] Charlotte Cave IDE[366],[367] was christened on 10 Jan 1829 at Warblington, Co. Hampshire, England.[368] She died circa Feb 1881.[369],[370] She was buried on 22 Feb 1881 at St. Faith's, Havant, Co. Hampshire, England.[389],[390],[391] He was a parchment maker between 1847 and 1900 at Homewell Parchment Yard, Havant, Co. Hampshire, England.[162] He and Ellen Lipscomb appeared on the census of 1861 at 184 West, Havant, Co. Hampshire, England; where Albert (30), a parchment maker, Ellen (25) and Ellen (1) were present.[392],[393] At sometime between their father's retirement, and subsequent death in 1869, George and Albert formed 'G. & A. Stallard' at Homewell.[360] He was living in 1867 at West Street, Havant, Co. Hampshire, England; and was a parchment maker. There was also an Edward Stallard (probably his father), fellmonger, at the same residence.[359] He appeared on the census of 1881 at East Street, Havant, Co. Hampshire, England; where Albert (50) was a parchment manufacturer, and wife Ellen (44), and children Ellen (21), Agnes (19), Edward J. (17), Albert E. (12), William T. (10), Harrold (5), and servant Elizabeth Carrell (19) were present.[394] Albert and Ellen are thought to have eventually had 8 children from 1859 to after 1881.[395] George and Albert Stallard were parchment makers in Havant in 1900.[362] He appeared on the census of 1901 at Havant, Co. Hampshire, England; where Albert (70) was a parchment manufacturer.[363] Upon George and Albert's retirement, G. & A.
