8. Assumption made by researcher: based on Stallard births from IGI batch C066282, and burials from A.D.Bone's research of Catherington parish records (burials 1701-1812), yet ages at death not recorded. {1}.

9. research note: There appear 2 likely possibilities: #1) Mary Page was the mother of the first four children only and died in 1716. She may have been born anytime between 1665-1683 ( accommodating reasonable child bearing ages), and then died with an age between 33-45 years old. The remaining four children could be of son Edward b.1699 and another Mary, who then died in 1726/27 with an age in the range of 23-45 years. #2) Mary Page was the mother of all 8 children, and died within a month of the last one. She would probably be born between 1681-1683, and would be around 43-45 years old at her death. The death of Mary in 1716 may be attributed to the wife of another Edward, perhaps the son b.1699. Determining the ages at death of the two Marys would help determine the truer tale.. {0}.

103. research note: Edward's father was William Stallard as per 1) Edward's 1792 baptism record, the only one for an "Edward Stallard" in Buriton near that time. NB all baptisms for "Stallard" children in Buriton from 1788-1795 were for William Stallard and Olive's children. There were none record before 1788.. {1}.

104. research note: Edward's mother was Olive Patrick as per 1) Edward's 1792 baptism record, the only one for an "Edward Stallard" in Buriton near that time. NB all baptisms for "Stallard" children in Buriton from 1788-1795 were for William Stallard and Olive's children. There were none record before 1788.. {1}.

105. Assumption: The recorded date of baptism 1792 DOES NOT compare well to the DOB based on ages at census: 1841 aged 45 (could be as low as 40 based on rounding method used, and 1851 aged 50, giving DOB of around 1801. But it does compare well with Maud Pride's family narrative, and fact that the 1851 census does report Edward was of Buriton, and there are no other Bapts for Edward Stallard in Buriton.. {2}.

106. From the research files of Albery Bone (1909-1996), his research reported christening was 29Apr1791, based on reading church records in England. {1}.

143. research note: ages recorded a various times: 83 in 1876, ~45 in 1841, 56 in 1851, implying DOBs of 1793, 1796, and 1795. {1}.

144. research note: Eight Charlottes were baptised in Petersfield Parish c.1789-1799 Charlotte Gaman (b.1790), Charlotte Lickford (b.1795), Charlotte Wheatly (b.1796), and Charlotte Cookson (b.1798). Another four Charlottes were baptised in that period who died or married others before Edward and Charlotte's marriage in 1812. As it turns out, our ancestor was born in Surrey.. {1}.

145. research note: Charlotte Todman (#1), wife of Edward Stallard, was not born in Petersfield. There was another Charlotte Todman (#2), daughter of Thomas Todman & Elizabeth Page, born 6 Jul 1794 in Petersfield, but she did not marry Edward Stallard. In the records of Peterfield Parish, the other Charlotte Todman's (#2) family moved to Sheet c.1802. Charlotte Todman (#2) of Sheet married Wm Langrish 25 Jul 1812, had son George 1818. Wm died 1819 and Charlotte Langrish married John Pledger 13 May 1820. Our Charlotte (#1) appeared in the 1851 census in Petersfield (HO107/1677 p194) as aged 57 (i.e. b.1794), and reported she was from Petersfield, but that must be an error. In 1861 she reported her place of birth as Haslemere, Surrey, where her baptismal record is found dated 30 Nov 1794.. {1}.

146. Assumption: assuming she was born after her parent's marriage, also A.D.Bone's research with Maude Pride indicated Francis born between Caroline and Edward. {0}.
