          He emigrated in 1832 to British North America (Canada).[139],[140] "John worked on the docks, at Port Credit, briefly before travelling north, in the spring to secure a job as a cooper in Meadowville... John was an organizer for William Lyon MacKenzie during the Rebellion of 1837 and married a Tory's daughter, Jane 3 days after the battle, in a church at Derry West."[141] He was the hauler of the first load of merchandise to the first store to be opened in Brampton circa 1834 at Chinguacousy Twp., Peel Co., Upper Canada (Ontario), British North America (Canada).[142],[143] He lived in 1837 at Chinguacousy Twp., Peel Co., Upper Canada (Ontario), British North America (Canada).[144] He and Jane McKeown lived in 1840 at lot 12 W½, con 1, Albion Twp., Home District, Upper Canada (Ontario), British North America (Canada).[145] He was living in 1846 at Albion Twp., Cardwell, Canada West (Ontario), British North America (Canada).[146],[147] He and Jane McKeown appeared on the census of 1851 at Albion Twp., Peel Co., Canada West (Ontario), British North America (Canada); where John (40) was a farmer, and Jane (30), both born Ire., Samuel (13), Joseph (11), John (9), Rob (5), Jane (7), David (3), and Mary (2) were present, Wesleyan Methodist, all children b. (3), and John U. N. (new born) were present. The family were Methodist.[154] On 25 Jan 1905 it was published, "John Kee died at Sandhill in his 93rd year. He was one of Albion's earliest settlers and was a staunch Liberal and a member of the Methodist Church."[155]

            Samuel and Jemima had six children: Albert Edward Kee (1867-1873), John Wesley Kee (1869-1934), Mary Jane Kee (1871-1897), Joseph Kee (1873-1900), Eliza Ann Kee (1874-1900), Mildred Kee (1882-?).[162] He and Jemima Lemon appeared on the census of 1871 at Mono Twp., Simcoe Co., Ontario, Canada; where Samuel Kee (30) was a farmer, and Jemimia Kee (30), Albert E Kee (4), Samul J Kee (1) were present.[163]

            Joseph and Isabella had six children: Robert John Kee, M.D. (1875-1959), Joseph Albert Kee (1876-1950) the father of Douglas Thurston Kee (1914-?) who wrote an extensive history of the Kee family in 1970, Ira Cecil Kee (1879-1905), Lillie May Kee (1882-1967), Cora Blanche Kee (1884-1884), and Reginald Crawford Kee (1892-1987).[167]

John Kee;[164],[164] born 13 Feb 1842 at Sandhill, Peel Co., Upper Canada (Ontario), British North America (Canada);[34] married Elizabeth Davidson 11 Jan 1876 at Cheltenham, Peel Co., Ontario, Canada;[168] died 14 Dec 1907 at age 65;[40] buried at Anglican Cemetery, Banda, Mulmur Twp., Dufferin Co., Ontario, Canada.[169]

            "As a young man he went into partnership with his brother, Robert Kee, in a tannery at Cheltenham in Peel County. Later he took up farming near Arvening, in Simcoe County."[170] John and Elizabeth had six children: Thomas John Kee (1878-1896), Anne Maude Kee (1880-1921), Margaret Rebecca Kee (1882-1898), Jessie May Kee, B.A.,M.A. (1884-?), Edith Warren Kee, R.O. (1886-1935), and Norman Roy Kee, V.S. (1888-1962).[171]

            "For some years he operated a tannery at Cheltenham, in Peel County, in partnership with his older brother, John Kee, but in his later years he was Clerk of the Township of Chinguacousy."[176] Robert and Martha had five children: Bertha M. Kee (1874-1931), Mary M.(Polly) Kee (1875-1927), Robert John Wesley Kee (1878-1955), Albert Esmond Kee (1885-1931), Reeba Jane Kee (1890-?).[176]

Mary Kee;[164],[164] born 25 Jul 1850 at Sandhill, Peel Co., Canada West (Ontario), British North America (Canada);[34] married Isaac Simpson Jan 1872 at Albion Twp., Peel Co., Ontario, Canada; where Isaac (22) was a batchelor, mechanic in Mono Mills, and Mary (20) was a spinster in Albion Twp;[183],[184] died of cerebral apoplexy [poss. stroke], at age 78, two days after the death of her 56 year-old daughter Edith, who suffered cervical cancer for 2½ years 24 Jan 1929 at 47 King St., Brantford, Brant Co., Ontario, Canada, at age 78;[40],[185] buried at Brantford, Ontario, Canada.[186]

            Mary and Isaac had one daughter, Edith Olga Simpson (1873-1929).[187]

          • viii. Matilda Ann Kee;[164],[164] born 26 Nov 1852 at Sandhill, Peel Co., Canada West (Ontario), British North America (Canada);[188],[189] married James Clark Wardlaw 11 Jun 1873 at York Co., Ontario, Canada;[190],[191] died 13 May 1926 at age 73.[40]

            Matilda and James had four children: Margaret R. Wardlaw (1874-?), Charles Edmund Wardlaw (1878-1939), Mary (or Matilda) Roxaline Wardlaw (1881-1961), and Norman Nelson Wardlaw (1895-1980).[192],[193]

Rebecca Ellen Kee;[164],[164] born 15 Jun 1855 at Sandhill, Peel Co., Canada West (Ontario), British North America (Canada);[34] died 1 Nov 1874 at age 19;[40] buried at Providence Cemetery, Sandhill, Albion Twp., Peel Co., Canada West (Ont, "Rebecca their daughter / Died Nov. 2, 1874 / Aged 19 Years."[194]

            Rebecca remained unmarried and had no children.[195] As of 1871, she was also known as Rebecca Ellinor KEE.[196]

William Nelson Kee;[197],[197] born 1 May 1858 at Sandhill, Peel Co., Canada West (Ontario), British North America (Canada);[139],[34] married Ruth Alsina Rutherford 28 Nov 1894 at Peel Co., Ontario, Canada;[198],[199] died 15 Feb 1939 at age 80;[40] buried at Providence Cemetery, Sandhill, Albion Twp., Peel Co., Ontario, Canada, "Wm Nelson Kee / Died Feb. 15, 1939 / Aged 80 Years."[200],[201]

            William and Ruth had three children: Mary Florence Kee (1896-?), Mildred Viola Kee (1898-1970), John Wellington Nelson Kee (1901-1980).[193] He lived in 1909 at lot 12 W½, con 1, Albion Twp., Peel Co., Ontario, Canada; when he sold it and, retired to Brampton.[202]

Tyrone, Ulster, Ireland;[205],[206] married John Kee (see #40), son of Samuel Kee and Mary Dunlap, 12 Dec 1837 at Derry West, Toronto Twp., Home District, Upper Canada (Ontario), British North America (Canada); by Rowly Heyland in a Wesleyan Methodist service, by publication of banns, witnessed by Matilda McKeown and Mary Reid;[132],[133],[134] died aged 80 28 Jul 1894 at Albion Twp., Peel Co., Ontario, Canada;[207],[7] buried at Providence Primitive Methodist Cemetery (Sandhill), Lot 13, Con. 1, Albion Twp., Peel Co., Ontario, Canada, "Jane McKeown his wife / Dide July 28, 1894 / Aged 79 Years."[208],[194]

          She lived in 1837 at Toronto Twp., Home District, Upper Canada (Ontario), British North America (Canada).[144] She and John Kee lived in 1840 at lot 12 W½, con 1, Albion Twp., Home District, Upper Canada (Ontario), British North America (Canada).[145] She and John Kee appeared on the census of 1851 at Albion Twp., Peel Co., Canada West (Ontario), British North America (Canada); where John (40) was a farmer, and Jane (30), both born Ire., Samuel (13), Joseph (11), John (9), Rob (5), Jane (7), David (3), and Mary (2) were present, Wesleyan Methodist, all children b. Ont.[148] She and John Kee appeared on the census of 1861 at Lot 24, Con. 5, Chinguacousy Twp., Peel Co., Canada West (Ontario), British North America (Canada); where John (40) was a farmer, and he and Jane (40) were born in Ireland, with Samuel (22), Joseph (20), John (18), Robert (16), Jane (14), David (12), Mary (10), Matilda (8), Rebecca (5), and William (2) all born in Upper Canada, living in a 1-story log home. On 200 acres, the family produced wheat, barley, peas, oats, potatoes, and hay.[149] She and John Kee appeared on the census of 1871 at Albion Twp., Peel Co., Ontario, Canada; where John Kee (55) was an Irish-born farmer, with Jane Kee (53), Joseph Kee (30) also a farmer, Metilde Ann Kee (17), and Rebeca Ellinor Kee (15) present.[150] She and John Kee appeared on the census of 1881 at Albion Twp., Peel Co., Ontario, Canada; where John (69) was Irish born farmer, Jane (63) also Irish born, Jane (28), and William N (22) were present.[152] She and John Kee appeared on the census of 1891; where John Kee (69) was a farmer, with Jane Kee (70), Nelson Kee (27), and domestic servant Isabella Alford (16) were present.[153]
