He was a Quaker.[801] He and Sarah Lukens lived between 1789 and 1802 at Catawissa, Northumberland Co., Pennsylvania, United States of America; where William purchased from James Lukens land on main branch of Roaring Creek, expanding to 300 acres in 1792, 400 in 1797, including a grist mill for 1300 pounds, occassionally selling small parcels.[802],[803] He and Sarah Lukens appeared on the census of 1790 at Northumberland Co., Pennsylvania, United States of America; where the family of William Finton [sic] had 1 male > 16, 2 males < 16, and 2 females, whom we assume to be William (28), John (2), Samuel (1 mo), Sarah (21), and Rachael (3).[804] He was an inkeeper in 1794 at Catawissa, Northumberland Co., Pennsylvania, United States of America.[805] He and Sarah Lukens lived in 1800 at Catawissa, Northumberland Co., Pennsylvania, United States of America.[806] He and Sarah Lukens emigrated between 1802 and 1803 to Upper Canada (Ontario), British North America (Canada).[807] He and Sarah Lukens may have lived circa 1803 at lot 15, concession 3, East Gwillimbury Twp., York Co., Upper Canada (Ontario), British North America (Canada); leasing on a clergy reserve.[808],[809] On 24 Jun 1814, Sarah Fenton and Joseph Pearson petitioned the court to allow her to administer William's estate, as he left no will. Witnesses were William Pearson and Mark Fenton.[810]
