Worked
in Bradford Store |
George
left home
as a teenager and worked in Elliot's Store in Bradford. He boarded at the
local Hotel, and received his confirmation at Trinity Church, Bradford,
in 1904. During his brother William's illness in 1903/04, he used to walk
to Woodmount Farm every Saturday night. After William's death, and the
families' subsequent move to John Street in Bradford, George moved out
of the hotel and back home
with Francis, and his sisters and sister-in-law.
This
is the brass knob of the walking stick given to George on his 24th birthday.
