Samuel4 WIXSON (child of Randal, #112);[192],[193] born circa 1827 at Upper Canada (Ontario), British North America (Canada);[194],[195],[196] married Esther Rawson (see #57), daughter of John Rawson and Esther Linton, circa 1852 at Brock Twp., Ontario Co., Canada West (Ontario), British North America (Canada); though the exact date is unknown;[197],[198],[199] died between 1872 and 1879.[200],[201] He lived in 1850 at Con. 6, lot 9, Brock Twp., Ontario Co., Canada West (Ontario), British North America (Canada).[202] He purchased the land from Cornelius Hummerfelt and Joseph Wixson (Sr.) on 24 Mar 1851 at W½ lot 9, Con. 6, Brock Twp., Ontario Co., Canada West (Ontario), British North America (Canada).[203] The sale of land to Samuel by Joseph Wixson Sr. in 1851 supports the probably family relationship. The neighbouring property (E½ lot 9, Con. 6) was owned by Joseph Wixson Sr.'s son Randal Wixson from 1829 to 1847.[204],[205] He purchased the land from Sylvanus and Ruth Sharrard on 28 Oct 1854 at S½ lot 8, Con. 8, Brock Twp., Ontario Co., Canada West (Ontario), British North America (Canada).[206] He sold the 8th Concession property to neighbour Henry Glendinning in Nov 1854 at S½ of lot 8, Con. 8, Brock Twp., Ontario Co., Canada West (Ontario), British North America (Canada).[207] He and Esther Rawson sold the 6th Concession property to James Stabback on 9 Dec 1854 at W½ lot 9, Con. 6, Brock Twp., Ontario Co., Canada West (Ontario), British North America (Canada).[208] He and Esther Rawson lived in 1861 at Brock Twp., Ontario Co., Canada West (Ontario), British North America (Canada); in enumeration district 3, which included lands around Vroomanton village, and was near both Randal Wixson's previous land, and the farm Samuel bought from Joseph Wixson in 1850.[209] He and Esther Rawson appeared on the census of 1861 at Brock Twp., Ontario Co., Canada West (Ontario), British North America (Canada); where Annis Wixson (RC, married and not widowed, 53) was recorded as a labourer (and it is assumed she is Samuel's mother), Samuel (Baptist, married,35), Esther (WM, married, 23), Clancy (prob. Clarissa) (7), Mary Ann (5), Daniel (i.e. John Daniel, 3) and Edward McDermot were present. It was recorded Esther gave birth in 1860, (prob. Ann Jane b. Feb 1861) but child was not present at census. The family lived in a one-story log home on 2 acres, and a cow valued at $20.[210] He and Esther Rawson appeared on the census of 1871 at Con. 7, lot 11, Brock Twp., Ontario Co., Ontario, Canada; where Samuel (Baptist, born in Ont., of Dutch origin, 43), Esther (36), Clarissa (17), Mary Ann (15), John Daniel (13), Ann Jane (10), Robert (8), Joseph (4), Isaac (1) and Jacob (1) were present. As tenants, they lived on a 2-acre plot, cultivated potatoes and turnips, produced 20 pounds of butter per year, and had a cow and a pig.
