40. Andrew4 INGRAM; born 27 Jul 1789 at Urney, Strabane, Co. Tyrone, Ulster, Ireland;[206],[207],[208] he may have married Mary Brideu (see #41) 20 Apr 1828 at Glasgow, Co. Lanark, Scotland; where bride's name spelled Bredie, in a Presbyterian service;[209],[210],[211] died "aged 65" 7 Jan 1855 at Nelson Twp., Halton Co., Canada West (Ontario), British North America (Canada), at age 65;[212],[213],[214] buried at St. John's Anglican Church, Nelson Twp., Halton Co., Canada West (Ontario), British North America (Canada), "A native of Ireland... AE 65 y'rs."[215]

Recollections of his great-granddaugter include "Born in County Tyrone, Ireland he joined the 87th [sic] Regiment after leaving school and fought with valor in the Napoleonic Wars through to the Battle of Waterloo where he received a sword wound to the head, in support of the Duke of Wellington. He remained in service and married Mary Brideu. He was stationed in many British outposts including Quebec, where his son Thomas was born. He returned to Hannahville."[216],[217] He began military service on 2 Oct 1807 at Strabane, Co. Tyrone, Ulster, Ireland, described as 5 ft 7 inches, 18 yrs 71 days old, fresh complexion, hazle eyes, brown haired, long face, of Strabane, Urney, a weaver, attested before before Lt. Mullens for unlimited service in 10th Regiment of Foot.[218] He appeared on a pay list, serving with 10th Regiment of Foot, 1st Battalion, 10th company between 25 Dec 1813 and 24 Mar 1814 at L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Catalonia, Spain.[219] He transfered units on 25 Apr 1821 at Malta (Crown Colony) joining the 90th Regiment, 2nd Battalion, where he was described as 5½ ft, age 32, fresh complexion, hazel eyes, brown hair; of Urney, Tyrone, Ireland where he was a weaver. Attested in Malta for unlimited service, volunteering from the 10th Foot where he served from 2 Oct 1807 to 24 Apr 1821.[220] He ended military service on 20 Jun 1827; and was examined for an out-pension as member of 90th Regiment of Light Infantry, aged 38, having spent 6 yrs 2 mos in 90th, 13 yrs 7 mos in 10th Foot, as private, where he was "subject to inflamation of the liver" and "sworn out"; birthplace = Strabane; occupation = weaver; 5 foot 6½ inches tall, brown hair, hazel eyes, sallow complexion. Awarded pension of 1 shilling per day. His discharge certificate remarks the inflamed liver was "contracted in Sicily in 1812, and very worn out by the long service in the Mediterranean" and that his conduct as a soldier was "good". Andrew made his mark.[221],[222],[223] He and Mary Brideu may have immigrated in 1845 from British North America (Canada).[224] He lived between 1845 and 1855 at British North America (Canada); receiving military pension from Toronto.[225],[226] He and Mary Brideu appeared on the census of 1851 at Nelson Twp., Halton Co., Canada West (Ontario), British North America (Canada); where Andrew Ingram (67) a labourer born Ireland, and Mary (54) also born Ireland, possibly living in the home of John Easterbrook and his family.[227] It was written, "At Hannahsville, Nelson, on Sunday, Jan. 7th, 1855, Andrew Ingram, aged 65 years, late of County Tyrone, Ireland. The deceased served under Wellington in Spain, and was present at Salamanca, where he was severly wounded in the head."[228]

    He emigrated to Philidelphia, Pennsylvania, United States of America; "were he spent his life."[234] He lived in 1848 at Petersburg, Virginia, United States of America.[235] He "aided about 200 slaves to escape" at Petersburg, Virginia, United States of America.[236] He and Jane Williams appeared on the census of 1850 at Petersburg, Virginia, United States of America; where William (24) was construction carpenter b. Ireland, with Jane (24) b. England and Susan Nichol (14) present.[237] He and Jane Williams left Petersburg after William's tea store was burned by slave dealers in 1856.[238] He and Jane Williams appeared on the census of 1860 at Philidelphia, Pennsylvania, United States of America; where William (34) ran a tea store, b. Ireland, with Jane (34), William S. G. (5) b. Virginia, Emily J (6 mos) b. PA, and Matilda Allen (21 a servant, present.[239] He and Jane Williams appeared on the census of 1880 at 223 Pine St, Philidelphia, Pennsylvania, United States of America; where William (54) was a tea merchant, with Jane (54), William S. (25) also a tea merchant, and Emily J. (20) a medical student, with Earnest Emerson (14) a boarding student present.[240] He appeared on the census of 1900 at West Rockhill, Bucks Co., Pennsylvania, United States of America; where William (b. Apr 1826), widowed, having been married 49 years, was a farmer on land he owned outright, with Emily J (b. Dec 1859) a Physician present.[241] He was a close friend of poet Walt Whitman at Telford, Bucks Co., Pennsylvania, United States of America.[242]

  • iii. John Ingram;[229],[229] born 4 Jun 1829 at St Andrew parish, Glasgow, Co. Lanark, Scotland; where father was Andrew Ingram, mother Mary Brady, in a Roman Catholic service;[243],[244] died where it was written, "an inquest was held yesterday on the body of an old age pensioner, named John Ingram. Deceased was found sitting in a chair in front of the fireplace in his hut. A verdict of death from natural causes was returned," and, "a brother to Mr. A. Ingram, storekeeper, of Tarcutta", and "72 years old" 3 Jun 1903 at Adelong, New South Wales, Australia, at age 73.[245],[246]

    He and Andrew Ingram lived in 1852 at Nelson Twp., Halton Co., Canada West (Ontario), British North America (Canada).[247] He and Andrew Ingram emigrated in Mar 1852 to Melbourne, Australia; "to seek their fortune" in the gold rush.[248],[249] He and Andrew Ingram lived in 1877 at Adelong, New South Wales, Australia; both recorded as contributing 10 shillings to the Indian Famine Relief Fund.[250] He and Andrew Ingram lived in 1881 at Adelong, New South Wales, Australia; "John Ingram and Andrew Ingram and his family were gold mining."[251] He lived between 1901 and 1903 at on Mrs. Mack's property near Nuggety Gully, Adelong, New South Wales, Australia.[252]

  • iv. Andrew Ingram;[229],[229] born 1832 at Co. Tyrone, Ulster, Ireland;[253],[254],[255] married Ellen Wilson 3 Aug 1867 at Beechworth, Victoria, Australia; where Andrew (33) was of Tyrone, Ireland, and Ellen (21) was of Sydney, NSW;[256],[257],[258] died "late of Tarcutta, aged 88 years. R.I.P" 20 Aug 1920 at Beckwith St., Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, Australia.[259]

    He and John Ingram lived in 1852 at Nelson Twp., Halton Co., Canada West (Ontario), British North America (Canada).[247] He and John Ingram emigrated in Mar 1852 to Melbourne, Australia; "to seek their fortune" in the gold rush.[248],[249] He lived in 1867 at Hillsborough, New South Wales, Australia; at the time of his wedding.[260] He and Ellen Wilson lived between 1869 and 1920; Yackandandah, Victoria (1869); Emerald Hill, Victoria (1871-72); Adelong, NSW (1874-1883); Tarcutta, NSW (1886-1912); Wagga Wagga, NSW (1920).[261] He and John Ingram lived in 1877 at Adelong, New South Wales, Australia; both recorded as contributing 10 shillings to the Indian Famine Relief Fund.[250] He and John Ingram lived in 1881 at Adelong, New South Wales, Australia; "John Ingram and Andrew Ingram and his family were gold mining."[251] He ran a general store between 1903 and 1912 at Tarcutta, New South Wales, Australia.[262] He it was reported, "Mr. Andrew Ingram, senr., who died on Friday night last was 88 years of age. He was born in the County of Tyrone, Ireland, and went to Canada when very young with his parents. He was 68 years in Australia. He followed the goldfields in the early days with varying success. He conducted a general store at Tarcutta for about 27 years. He retired a few years ago, and has been living privately jn Beckwith-street. Wagga. He leaves a family of six sons and three daughters, John, Andrew, James, Thomas, Charles and William, and the Misses Mary, Juliet and Rebecca Ingram, of Wagga. The deceased, was very highly respected by a wide circle of relatives and friends. The funeral took place yesterday afternoon. The cortege contained a number of relatives and friends of the deceased from Tarcutta. Borambola, Holbrook, Spring Gully and Wagga, and a number of ex-Tarcutta residents now residing in Wagga. The interment took place in the new portion of the Wagga Roman Catholic Cemetery. The pall hearers were Messrs; John, Andrew. James, Thomas and Charles Ingram, sons of the deceased, and William Badewitz. a nephew. The Rev. Father Ryan officiated at the graveside. The remains were encased in a polished maple coffin, with silver mountings. The chief mourners were the relatives mentioned above, and his other son, William. The funeral arrangements were conducted by M'Intosh Bros" on 23 Aug 1920 at Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, Australia.[263]

Rebecca Ingram;[229],[229] born Dec 1836 at Ireland;[264],[265] married Austin O"Malley from 1857 to 1865;[266],[210],[267] died 5 Jun 1912 at 510 Oak St., San Francisco, California, United States of America, at age 75;[268] buried 7 Jun 1912 at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Colma, San Mateo Co., California, United States of America, plot I 29 2 g, after a service at Sacred Heart church.[269],[270]

    She may have appeared on the census of 1851 at Binbrook, Wentworth Co, Canada West (Ontario), British North America (Canada); where Rebecca Ingram (18) was single, born Ireland.[271] She and Austin O"Malley "lived first in London and later in San Francisco Ca. where they lived through the earthquake and great fire. They had six Children: Rebecca, Helen and Margaret (none of whom married) and William a Doctor who was fatally wounded in the Cuban War, Thomas an Ordained Priest and Austin(no information)."[272] She and Austin O"Malley appeared on the census of 1871 at London, Ontario, Canada; where Austin O'Malley (35) a collar maker, and Rebecca O'Malley (34), both born Ireland, and Mary O'Malley (13), Rebecca O'Malley (11), Margret O'Malley (9), Nellie O'Malley (8), John O'Malley (7), Austin O'Malley (5), William O'Malley (3), Thomas O'Malley (7 mo, b. Sep 1870), each born in Ontario, with Richard Martin (24) collar maker, and Ellen Hays (19) a servant, were present.[273] She and Austin O"Malley emigrated between 1874 and 1878 to United States of America.[274] She and Austin O"Malley appeared on the census of 1880 at 414 Minna St., San Francisco, California, United States of America; where Austin J. O'Malley (44) Irish-born harness maker, Rebecca O'Malley (44) b. Canada of Scotish parents, children Mary A. O'Malley (21), Rebecca E. O'Malley (18), Maggie O'Malley (17), Nellie A. O'Malley (15), John P. O'Malley (14), Austin A. O'Malley (12), William O'Malley (10), Thomas O'Malley (8), Richard O'Malley (6) all born Canada, and George W. O'Malley (2) born in California, were present.[275] She and Austin O"Malley appeared on the census of 1900 at 1114 Hyde St., San Francisco, California, United States of America; where Austin J O'Malley (65, b. May 1835, Ireland) a harness maker?, his wife Rebecca O'Malley (64, b. Dec. 1836, Canada), children Hellen O'Malley (38, b. Oct 1871, Canada), and George O'Malley (31, b. Dec. 1878, Calif.) were present.[276] She and Austin O"Malley appeared on the census of 1910 at 510 Oak St., San Francisco, California, United States of America; where Austin J O'Malley (67), harness maker b. Ireland, and wife of 45 years Rebecca O'Malley (65) b. England, and children Rebecca E O'Malley (38) an adjuster with the US Mint, Austin A O'Malley (35) a cable man with the telephone company, Margaret O'Malley (21), and Helen O'Malley (21) an artist in china painting, each born in California, and boarder Mary Scoles (21) a dressmaker, were present.[277] She it was published, "beloved wife of the late Austin J. O'Malley, and devoted mother of Father O'Malley of St. Agnes Church, and John, Austin, George, Helen, Rebecca, and Margaret O'Malley, a native of London, England... Interment Holy Cross cemetery" on 6 Jun 1912 at San Francisco, California, United States of America.[278]

41. Mary4 BRIDEU; born 1795 at Ireland;[279],[280] she may have married Andrew Ingram (see #40) 20 Apr 1828 at Glasgow, Co. Lanark, Scotland; where bride's name spelled Bredie, in a Presbyterian service.[209],[210],[211]

She and Andrew Ingram may have immigrated in 1845 from British North America (Canada).[224] She and Andrew Ingram appeared on the census of 1851 at Nelson Twp., Halton Co., Canada West (Ontario), British North America (Canada); where Andrew Ingram (67) a labourer born Ireland, and Mary (54) also born Ireland, possibly living in the home of John Easterbrook and his family.[227] She appeared on the census of 1861 at Nelson Twp., Halton Co., Canada West (Ontario), British North America (Canada); where Mary Ingram (68) was widowed, Roman Catholic, born Ireland, living with John Early (40) and Elizabeth Early (40) and their children.[281]

      John and Sarah had one child, Frank (13 Jun 1876), and few of his descendants are known.[305] He was also known as John Albert MANARY.[311] He lived in 1898 at Lot 33, con 3, Middleton Twp., Norfolk Co, Ontario, Canada; at his death.[312]

      Samuel and Elizabeth had seven children and many descendants are known.[305]

Sarah Ann4 WHITTON; born 1801 at Nassagaweya Twp., Halton Co., Upper Canada (Ontario), British North America (Canada);[304],[316] married William Robert Manary (see #42), son of John Manary and Ann (--?--), 1823 at Halton Co., Upper Canada (Ontario), British North America (Canada);[289] died 30 Oct 1839 at Nelson Twp., Halton Co., Upper Canada (Ontario), British North America (Canada);[304],[316] buried at St. John's Anglican Church, Nelson Twp., Halton Co., Upper Canada (Ontario), British North America (Canada), where her monument said, "Erected in the memory of Sarah Manarey, who died October 30, MDCCCXXXIX aged 38 years. The people of the Lord may say, The firends we mourn are gone before, And soon we hope to see the day, When we shall meet to part no more."[317],[318]

Buckingham, England;[324] married Jane Maria Bott (see #45), daughter of William Robert Bott and Sophia Sarah Farrow, 9 May 1867 at St George Hanover Square, London, England; where John Neale, of full age, was a batchelor, and gentleman of Lambeth, and Jane Maria Bott, of full age, was a spinster, of Maddox Street?;[325],[326] died aged 87 (Apr-Jun, Brentford registration district) 1906 at London, Co. Surrey, England; where John (32) was clerk secretary department of customs, lodging at the home of John and Elizabeth Sinclaire.[329] He and Jane Maria Bott appeared on the census of 1861 at Brewery Inn Public House, Ashtead, Co. Surrey, England; where John (42) was a former clerk, and Jane M (29), Arthur J (6), Emily J (4) and Frederick W (1) were present.[330] He and Jane Maria Bott appeared on the census of 1871 at 15 Russel Terrace, Lambeth, London, Co. Surrey, England; where John (53) was a retired secretary (department of customs), and Jane M (39), Alice J (19), Arthur J (16), Emily J (14), and Frederick W (11) were present.[331] He and Jane Maria Bott appeared on the census of 1881 at 10 Amyand Villas, Twickenham, Co. Middlesex, England; where John (62) was a retired clerk of customs, and Jane Maria (49), Alice Jane (29), Emily Jane (24), Frederick William (21), Amy Gertrude Bond (8) a visitor, and Sarah Humphreys (17) a servant, were present.[332] Between 1887 and 1901, John Neale and Jane Maria Bott lived at 20 Netherton Rd, Twickenham, London, Co. Middlesex, England.[333] He and Jane Maria Bott appeared on the census of 1891 at 20 Netherton Rd, Twickenham, London, Co. Middlesex, England; where John (72) was a retired civil service clerk, and Jane M. (58), Emily J. (33) a shorthand typewriter, and a servant Elizabeth Drinkwater (18) were present.[334] Between 1901 and 1906, John Neale lived at 20 Netherton Rd, Twickenham, London, Co.
