George Elliott
d. 1850
Michael's father was likely George Elliott. There was a G. Elliott living at Annaghilly during the tithe applotment of 1833, and in St. Tighernach's church yard there is a plot very much like the Drumard Elliott's, showing his name. There seemed to be a small stone saying, "Erected by W.M. Elliott of Clones for his posterity, Jany 1850". A plaque is affixed to a surrounding iron railing saying, "The family burial place of George Elliott, Clonfard, 1878". I interpret this to mean that George died in 1850, our Michael Elliott (who was shown as W. Michael in some records) placed the memorial then, and that the remaining family added the railing and plaque in 1878, by which time they lived in Clonfard.

The railing and plaque look like the one for the Elliotts of Drumard placed a few plots away in 1879.
