45. Assumption made by researcher: Thurston Kee states, "Elenor Kee. In the cemetary at Creemore, Ontario, there is a monument to the memory of Elenor Kee, who died 28th October, 1876, aged 53 years and 5 months. This would mean that she was born in May 1823, and did not marry we would presume. It seems likely that she was a daughter of Samuel and Mary Kee." This appears to be the source of information for the entry in batch 7835290 of I.G.I. for this person. I disagree. This person is more likely to be the wife of Matthew Kee, last reported in 1871 census, in Sunnidale Twp., near Creemore. Matthew's family later moved west, to Winnipeg.. {0}.

47. Douglas Thurston Kee, The Family of Kee, p 61, from obituary "Father Kee", Christian Guardian, 31 Jul 1872, "served the Wesleyan Church as a local preacher fully fifty years, twelve in Ireland and thirty-eight in Canada". From this, 1872 minus 38 equalls 1834. {1}.

51. Assumption: Neither Samuel Kee nor David Kee appear on the agricultural census that would indicate their lot and consession number. The farmers recorded before and after them on the 1861 census all resided on Con. 1, Albion Twp., so I assume those mentioned without land (merchants and other non-farmers) were also on Con. 1, probably Sandhill or Tullamore villlage.. {1}.

Howland we find that he came from New York State to Cooksville in the present County of Peel, in 1830, and applied for a job there. This would seem to establish 1830 as the year John Kee emigrated ". {1}.
