the help of current Pastor Brent Watts in 1997.
8. John, 10:11-13 King James version:
(11) I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for
the sheep.
(12) But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the
sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth:
and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.
(13) The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not
for the sheep.
9. Gauslin p 10
10. Assumptions made to find Samuel Wixson's
(b.c.1826/27) likeliest Wixson parent:
1) the parent is one of Joseph's (b.1778) or Joshua's (b.1780) children,
based on three specific indicators.
2) the parent was not younger than 17 years old when Samuel was born
in 1826/27, i.e. the parent was not born after 1809/10.
3) that Annis Wixson (nee. unknown) is Samuel's mother, therefore his
Wixson parent is male.
-
9 children meet the first three criteria
4) also, that the parent did not have a family other than with Annis, as
she remained alive and with Samuel until the mid 1860's
-
disqualifying Amos (appears wife named Elizabeth in church minutes), Azor
(family with Jane born from 1837-1851), and Jesse (family with Rebecca
born from 1828-1852)
-
leaving Randal (28), Asa (26), Townsend (26), Joel (24), John (19), and
Joshua Jr. (17), with ages in 1826/27 shown in parentheses.

to Canada, but settled in Sanilac County where most of his brothers and
sisters had moved and where he married (2) at age 60, 13 Nov, 1859, to
Eliza Fuller, age 42, widow of Colin Degeer, formerly of King Twp., York
Co., Ontario. Witnesses: William Austin & Charles McCormick."
